Nerikomi

Design is all about control, but I seek that balance between planning an idea and having surprises come my way in the journey. Nerikomi originates in Japan, where colored clay is combined to create marbled patterns. You can try and be meticulous about it, but I like to create it without no plans, so that the swirls are spontaneous and always a surprise when I open the kiln!
